In 2001, Pauline was appointed by the Clark County Commission to serve on a task force to create land use guidelines for the area surrounding Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The Red Rock Overlay was created and passed in 2001 which provides guidelines for development and land use in the 46,000 acre area which surrounds and includes Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
In 2003, Pauline was appointed by the Clark County Commission to serve on the Environmentally Sensitive Lands task force. This 18 member task force was asked to develop criteria to identify potentially sensitive lands, establish priorities to protect those lands, and advise Clark County on appropriate means of protecting those lands. Pauline personally brokered the procurement of over $12 million of environmentally sensitive lands by the government.
In 2015, Pauline was appointed to work on the Red Rock Citizen?s Advisory Council by Clark County Commissioners and has served in this capacity since 2015 to present.
